Frank Mahoney, 98, of Canton, passed away on February 15 at home surrounded by his family. Mr. Mahoney was married to the love of his life, Theresa Mahoney, for 72 years until she passed away in August 2014.

Mr. Mahoney was born and raised in Dorchester, the son of Irish immigrants from County Cork, Ireland.

Mr. Mahoney studied opera at the Boston Conservatory of Music and was an operatic tenor who performed at many venues, including singing the national anthem at Fenway Park for the Red Sox. He hosted an AM radio program in Boston many years ago on which Lucille Ball was a guest, and sang up until his death. His favorite all-time tenor was Eugene Conley from Lynne …
