Galvin Middle School hosts Cultural Heritage Night
By Canton CitizenOn Wednesday, June 15, the Galvin Middle School hosted its 2016 Cultural Heritage Night, a fun-filled evening of music, dance and food celebrating the cultures in the school and local community. Organized by GMS Dean of Students Annya Haughton, the inaugural event featured performances by the Stajez Cultural Arts Center of Randolph, Rumba y Timbal dance company, Haley School of Irish Dance, Floor Lords of Boston, and many more. GMS is also grateful for the many restaurants that donated food: PF Chang of Dedham, Grape Leaf, Alfredo Aiello, Nisa’s Thai, and Papa Ginos and Roxanne’s Taqueria of Stoughton.
Haughton said the celebration was a tremendous success and they are looking forward to continuing the tradition next year. “I am elated that it was so well received and attended by the GMS families,” she said. “Celebrating who we are and what we enjoy is always a great way to bring folks together.”
