Shapiro off to 3-0 start for CHS boys’ tennis

By

The CHS boys’ tennis team kicked off its season last week going 1-2 against three Hockomock League foes. The Bulldogs lost 4-1 in their season opener last Monday at Sharon; beat Franklin 4-1 last Wednesday at home; and lost 4-1 at Oliver Ames last Thursday.

In an up-and-down week, Luke Shapiro proved to be a consistent force, going 3-0 and earning Canton’s only points in the losses to Sharon and OA.

Shapiro, a senior, was a Hockomock League all star this past fall for the CHS boys’ soccer team. Last year he was part of the first doubles team, but this season he is off to a hot start playing at the second singles position.

The team was scheduled to play at home against Foxboro on Monday and at North Attleboro on Wednesday. Canton will play at Stoughton today (Thursday).
