Richard J. Bourne, 58, passed away at home January 23. Born in Boston, he graduated from Norwood High School and lived in Norwood for many years before moving to Canton in 2008.
He worked as a cab driver for Sharon Taxi for many years and previously worked as a dispatcher for White Cab in Hyde Park. Beloved husband for 38 years of Margaret A. “Peggy” (MacIsaac). Devoted father of David Bourne of Las Vegas and Michael Bourne of Canton. Treasured son of Bernice Bourne of Mansfield and the late Frederick Bourne. Brother of Nancy Litcof and her husband, Bruce, of Randolph; Lori Taggart of Mansfield; and Rhonda Bourne and her wife, Erika, of Waltham. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of Richard’s life was held Tuesday, January 25, at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home, 455 Washington Street. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Caritas Hospice, 3 Edgewater Dr., Norwood, MA 02062.
