Dowling, Harry R.

Harry R. Dowling, 81, of Canton, formerly of Greenland, NH, and Tenants Harbor, ME, passed away March 10 at the High Gate Manor in Dedham. Born in Boston, he was educated in Hampton, NH, and was an Army veteran of the Korean War, where he served in the Signal Corps.

He was the owner and operator of J’s Trailer Sales in Rye, NH, for many years. He was an active member of the town of Greenland, where he was previously a member of the Board of Selectmen and the Planning Board and was also the past master of the Mason Lodge in Portsmouth, NH. He was also a former member of the Planning Board in Tenants Harbor.

Beloved husband of Joan G. (Burke). Father of Joanne H. Dowling of CA and Janet R. Corcoran and her husband, Paul, of Canton. Grandfather of Daniel, David, and Paul Corcoran.

A funeral service was held Monday morning, March 14, at the Dockray and Thomas Funeral Home, 455 Washington Street. Burial will be in Greenland Cemetery, Greenland, NH, at a later date.
