Gualtieri, Gertrude L.
By Canton CitizenGertrude L. Gualtieri (Hartford), of Canton, passed away March 9 at Norwood Hospital. Born in Wayland, she was raised in Cambridge and South Boston and has lived in Canton for the last 50 years.
She graduated from Mt. Auburn School of Nursing and was a registered nurse for a neurosurgeon at Boston City Hospital prior to having a family. She was a devoted mother and wife and enjoyed her family, crocheting, and playing bridge.
Beloved wife of Dr. Frank J. Sr. Mother of Trudy L. Harris and her husband, Bob, of Canton; Maria T. Gualtieri, MD, and her husband, John Maxwell, of Shrewsbury; Vincent P. Gualtieri and his wife, Beth, of FL; Emily A. Martinez and her husband, Jim, of Ware; Lisa J. Gualtieri of Duxbury; Larry J. Gualtieri and his wife, Carolyn, of East Sandwich; John M. Gualtieri and his wife, Lynne, of Canton; Cynthia M. Foley and her husband, Chris, of Wrentham; Christina M. MacDonald and her husband, David, of Stoughton; and the late Dr. Frank J. Jr. Also survived by 12 grandchildren.
A funeral mass was held Saturday morning, March 5, in St. Gerard Majella Church. Interment Knollwood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Canton EMT Association, 99 Revere St., Canton, MA 02021. Arrangements by the Dockray and Thomas Funeral Home, 455 Washington Street.
