Thanks to those who made annual Walk for Beth a success

By

Dear Editor:

Once again, I would like to express my family’s and the committee’s sincere thanks and gratitude for all the walkers who came out for the annual walk in memory of my sister. After a long night of rain, wind, thunder and lightning, the sun broke through, allowing for great walking weather (thank you, Beth). The number of walkers and those who couldn’t join us who sent donations is a continued tribute to Beth and her love of art.

There are so many people in this town that help in so many ways: the police and fire departments; the Canton Citizen; McNeice Construction; Poirier’s Garage; Shaw’s; and Barbara Walsh, owner of Unity Feeds and childhood friend to Beth and myself. Also, thank you to Stop & Shop in Stoughton, the Fruit Center in Milton, and Costco.

We were able to raise just over $4,000 and will be giving three scholarships in Beth’s name to deserving seniors from Canton High who are going into an art field. Beth, I’m sure, is looking down on us, thrilled that her memory lives on in helping blossoming art students. We know these awards would not be possible without the continued support of this wonderful town, friends and family.

Thanks to all!

Gratefully,

Patty Willis and the Friends of Beth Committee
