Canton Academy still accepting students
By Jay TurnerCanton Academy, the popular summer enrichment program offered by the Canton Public Schools, is now officially underway, and it is not too late to enroll for an upcoming session, according to program director Ed Amico.
Offering a wide variety of fun and exciting courses geared toward students in grades K-5, this year’s program also includes a new set of courses geared toward middle school students, including cartooning, computer art, jump rope and more.
Although a number of courses have already filled up, Amico said there are still select spots available in each of the next four sessions, all of which run Monday through Thursday, beginning with session two next week, July 11-14.
The cost to enroll is $55 per session for a 90-minute course (9:00-10:30 or 10:30-12:00) and $110 per session for a three-hour course (9:00-12:00).
Most of the classes are held at the Hansen Elementary School; however, a few of the courses, such as computer art, are held at Canton High School.
“Canton Academy looks forward to working with you and your child this summer,” Amico said. “We are excited, as I hope you will be, with the amount of options available to you and your child in a fun and safe environment.”
The 2011 Canton Academy catalog (including registration forms) is available online at cantonma.org. Registration can be completed via fax, mail, or at Canton High School.
