Eileen C. Smith, 94, passed away July 4 in Norwood Hospital following a period of failing health. Eileen was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Smith. She was born in Fall River to her late parents, Rosario and Alice B. (Bennett) Smith.

Formerly of Raynham, Eileen has resided in Canton for the past 50 years. She was a graduate of Taunton High School and the Herrick’s School of Business in Fall River. Prior to raising her family, Eileen was employed as the treasurer at the former Lakeville Hospital. She was a Red Cross volunteer for over 35 years and a member of the parent teachers association. She also was involved in the Boy Scouts and sang in the Canton Community Chorus and the St. James Chorus in Stoughton.

Eileen is survived by her children: Brian Smith and his wife, Donna, of Westerly, RI, Glenn Smith of North Easton and Greg Smith and his wife, Erin, of Stoughton; her sister Dorothea C. Cote of Raynham and her late siblings, Pearl Curran and William Cote. Eileen also leaves her 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral from the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., Taunton, on Saturday, July 9, at 10 a.m., followed by a mass of Christian burial in St. Ann’s Church in Raynham at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Friday from 4-7 p.m.
