Falling debris interrupts fireworks

Canton Fire Lt. Tom Driscoll said the town’s first fireworks display in two years was interrupted as a precaution Monday night when paper debris from the fireworks drifted over the crowd that had gathered to watch the display from the Hansen School.

Driscoll said the fireworks, which were set off from the Water Department property on Pecunit Street, resumed about 20 minutes later after spectators were moved to the Galvin.
