Steffy, Charles F.

Charles F. Steffy, 82, of Canton, passed away at the Goddard Rehabilitation Center in Stoughton on July 6. Born and raised in Pennsylvania, he attended the Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf.

Charles joined the Army in 1951 and served in the Korean War as a private first class. He was honorably discharged in March of 1953, receiving the Korean Service Medal with two Bronze Stars.

After the war, Charles worked as a steel worker and a machine operator. He lived in Stoughton prior to moving to Canton 40 years ago. He attended the Faith Baptist Church in Stoughton and was a member of VFW Post 1645 in Stoughton.

Husband of Joyce A. (Churchill) Steffy. Loving father of Richard and Charles P., both of Brockton, and Laurie and William A., both of Stoughton. Brother of William A. Steffy of KS. Also survived by seven grandchildren.

A funeral service was held Tuesday morning, July 12, in the Faith Baptist Church. Interment Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton. Arrangements by the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home, 455 Washington Street.
