Hometown Beach Boys

A group of Canton pals enjoy a day on Nantasket Beach in Hull in the early 1950s. The photo, taken by Allan “Bucky” Doody, appeared in the most recent issue of Reminisce magazine with the following quote from Doody: “We rented our swimsuits there and wore our locker keys around our necks.” Left to right: Charles Callahan (face obscured), Arthur Bougas, Richard Berardi, Joseph Uliano and Joseph Nardelli. Doody, Callahan, Berardi and Uliano have passed away. Bougas is still living in Canton and Nardelli lives in Norwood. The piece in Reminisce was sent to the Citizen by Canton resident Edith Smathers.
