By Canton CitizenPaul Arthur Danahy, a lifelong Canton resident, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Saturday, August 13.
He is survived by Claire (Finn), his wife of 52 years, and by his two sons and their wives: Paul (Mike) Danahy and his wife, Diane Angwin, of Chelmsford, and Jack and Sandy Danahy of Bow, NH. Paul leaves behind five loving grandchildren: Isabelle, Andre’, Claire, Patrick and Meaghan. He is also survived by his devoted sisters, Blanche Nervi and Ursula Duganiero, both of Canton, and was pre-deceased by his two brothers, Joseph and Alan.
Paul graduated from St John’s High School in Canton, then enlisted in the Army Air Corps during World War II, where he served as an engineer on B24s. After the military, he was employed for 44 years by AT&T (later NYNEX), from which he retired in 1992. Paul will always be remembered for his quick wit, his love of family, and his unique aptitude for repairing anything mechanical.
A funeral mass will be celebrated Thursday morning, August 18, at 10:30 in St. John the Evangelist Church. Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend.
