Bank of Canton sponsors MHS trip to Disney
By Canton CitizenStephen P. Costello, president and CEO of Bank of Canton, is pleased to announce the bank’s recent donation of $3,500 to the Massachusetts Hospital School in Canton. This contribution will help sponsor the annual November class trip to Disney World in Florida, covering expenses such as airfare, hotel and wheelchair transportation.
The class of 2012 marks the 26th year of class trips to the Magic Kingdom, which provide students with an opportunity to utilize independent living skills learned during their educational experience at MHS.
“Walt Disney once said, ‘You can dream, create, design and build the most wonderful place in the world … but it requires people to make the dreams a reality,’” said Dick Crisafulli, director of recreation at MHS. “Our class trip to Disney is successful because of the dedicated MHS staff and the generous sponsors like Bank of Canton that make possible the dreams of our children.”
“I have been waiting for this for so long,” said MHS student John M. “I can hardly stand it!”
“The Massachusetts Hospital School is an outstanding organization dedicated to helping children and young adults with disabilities achieve their independence in all aspects of life,” Costello said. “Bank of Canton is extremely proud to lend our support to MHS, and we hope this year’s trip to Disney World will be a memory that will last a lifetime for these exceptional students.”
The Mass. Hospital School is open to Massachusetts children and young adults from ages 6 to 22 who require medical management for a physical disability. Over the years, MHS has sent nearly 400 children to stay at Disney World.
