Fontana, Vincent J.
By Canton CitizenVincent J. Fontana, 76, of Canton, passed away suddenly October 29 at Norwood Hospital.
Born in New York City, he was raised in New York and attended New York University. He was a manager for the IRS in Boston for 39 years before retiring in 1999 and was the past treasurer of the Quarter Century Club.
He has lived in Canton for the last 39 years where he was a member of the Canton Senior Men’s Club.
Beloved husband of Mary M. (Wilson). Father of Michael V. and his wife, Lauren, of Sutton. Grandfather of Luke Roode of Sutton. Brother of Harry Fontana of NY, Richard Fontana and his wife, Mary, of CT, and the late John and Mario Fontana. Brother-in-law of Robert Wilson and his wife, Katherine, of Norton, and Hilary Wilson and his wife, Mary Ellen, of Pembroke. Close friend of Matthew Kramer and his wife, Joyce, of Deland, FL. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be held Thursday, November 3, at 10 a.m. in St. Gerard Majella Church in Canton. Interment St. Francis Cemetery, Taunton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701. Arrangements by the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home, 455 Washington Street.
