Devine, David H.
By Canton CitizenDavid H. Devine, 92, of Wayland, formerly of Canton, passed away November 25 at St. Patrick’s Manor in Framingham.
Born and raised in Boston, David attended Boston schools and graduated from English High School. After high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in World War II. He then went on to continue his education and graduated from Bunker Hill Community College.
David had a 32-year career with the MDC police, where he retired as a sergeant in 1982. He was a member of the Retired Association of Metropolitan Police (RAMP). He loved gardening, working around his home, and spending time with his family.
Beloved husband of Barbara M. (Kelliher). Loving father of Sue Anne Redquest of Canton, Barbara Lyn Landgraf and her husband, Brian, of NH, Rosemary Devine and her husband, Yanon, of CA, Karen Cronin and her husband, Dennis, of Townsend, Janis Chantiles and her husband, Peter, of Sudbury, David Devine and his wife, Wendy, of Taunton, and Daniel Devine and his wife, Michelle, of CA. Brother of the late Joseph and Harold Devine, and Mary Ford. Also survived by his grandchildren: James, Scott, Tammy, Keith, Danielle, Matthew, Colleen, Doron, Ryan, Jennifer, Alex, Dianne, David, Kelly, Chelsea, Michael, and Shayna, as well as 10 great-grandchildren.
Visiting hours in the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home, 455 Washington Street, Thursday, December 1, 4-8 p.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend a funeral mass Friday morning at 10:30 in St. John the Evangelist Church in Canton. Interment Mt. Benedict Cemetery, West Roxbury.
