Amrhein, Robert L.
By Canton CitizenRobert L. Amrhein, 83, of Canton, passed away November 30 at Brigham & Women’s Hospital after a long illness.
Born and raised in Jamaica Plain, he attended Boston English High School and served in the National Guard for nine years where he worked on a tug boat in Boston Harbor. He worked for the Milton Post Office for 31 years before retiring as a supervisor in 1990. He previously worked for Salada Tea in Boston for nine years and on an ice truck delivering in Nantasket.
Beloved husband of J. Harriet (Pitts). Father of Robert J. of Wrentham, John T. of Dedham, Walter P. of Wrentham, Joseph T. of MN, Mary M. of ME, Joan B. of NH, Louise A. of Braintree, Catherine M. Starr and her husband, Donald, of RI, William A. of Easton, and Rosemary J. of Canton. Brother of W. Paul Amrhein of Medford, Madeline M. Amrhein of Ireland, and the late George, Joseph and J. Walter Amrhein. Also survived by eight grandchildren.
A funeral mass was held Monday morning, December 5, in St. John the Evangelist Church in Canton. Interment Canton Corner Cemetery.
