Terminating choir at St. Gerard’s ‘deeply upsetting’

Dear Editor:

It appears St. Gerard’s Church is heading in a negative direction. Recently the music director and the entire adult choir were told they were not to be singing any longer. I am in the choir and it was quite a shock, especially at the holiday season.

“Cost” was cited as a reason and a meeting was held, but few answers were given. I know the choir is not paid — we do it out of love for our church and for music.

To terminate everything to do with music and the choir suddenly and without warning and then with no real justification is deeply upsetting and impossible to fathom.
