MacDonald, Eileen J.
By Canton CitizenEileen J. (McElhinney) MacDonald, 76, a longtime Canton resident, passed away at Hearthstone at Heights Crossing in Brockton on December 20.
Born and raised in the Mission Hill section of Boston, she attended Boston Public Schools and was a graduate of St. Elizabeth’s Nursing School.
She was the Hansen school nurse for many years before retiring in 2002. During her retirement Mrs. MacDonald continued to work as a substitute nurse for the Canton Public Schools and St. John’s School. She also volunteered for hospice and was an active parishioner at St. Gerard Majella.
Beloved wife of the late Kenneth A. Devoted mother of Patricia of Northbridge, Kenneth of Chestnut Hill, James of Canton, Kevin of CA, Bryan of Dorchester, Eileen Hicks of Canton, Jane Cody of Quincy, Carol of Dorchester, and Christopher of East Bridgewater. Sister of Monica Scanlan of Holbrook and the late James, Owen and Jerry McElhinney. Also survived by 10 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home, 455 Washington Street, Thursday, December 22, from 4-8 p.m. Funeral mass at St. Gerard Majella Church in Canton on Friday at 10 a.m. Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery, Canton.
