Bulldog gymnasts top OA for 2nd win
By Canton CitizenIn its second win of the season, the Canton High gymnastics team defeated the Tigers of Oliver Ames at home 125.7-120.7. Even without the full participation of senior captain Becca Pulcini, the team earned this decisive win and improved its overall record to 2-1.
Josh Klein continued to be a dominant force on the vault. His score of 9.2 was the season high for the Bulldogs in this event. Coach Carla King said it was an “outstanding score for a very difficult vault.”
The squad excelled in all four events, and the lineup will only strengthen with Pulcini’s return this week. Pulcini, only able to compete on bars due to an ankle injury, was set to compete in three events in Monday’s meet against North Attleboro.
“With Pulcini back in action, the team score will no doubt improve,” said King.
King is proud of a team that is consistently showing improvement. While she indicates that work needs to be done on bars and beam, she is hopeful for another win against the Rocketeers.
Also on the future Bulldog calendar is a meet next Tuesday on the road against Attleboro.
