Doocey, Frances M.
By Canton CitizenFrances M. Doocey (Matthews), 93, of Canton, passed away at the Harbor House in Hingham January 20.
Born and raised in Akron, Ohio, she graduated from the University of Akron in 1940. She was a member of the Women’s Army Auxiliary Corps. She previously lived in Boston and has lived in Canton since 1969.
She was an active parishioner of St. Gerard Majella Church, a devoted wife and mother who loved spending time with her family, and a great card player.
Beloved wife of the late Edward A., retired BPD. Mother of Robert K. and his wife, Nancy, of Franklin; Edward C. of Canton; Mary Lou Stoddard and her husband, Allan, of VA; and Michele M. Hanley of Weymouth. Sister of J.D. Mathews of FL. Also survived by six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral from the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home, 455 Washington Street, Saturday at 9 a.m., followed by a funeral mass at St. Gerard Majella Church at 10 a.m. Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery, Needham.
