Devlin, Francine S.
By Canton CitizenFrancine S. (Gross) Devlin, 76, formerly of Avon and Brockton, of San Jose, CA, passed away on Friday, March 2, after a long illness with her family by her side.
Francine was the beloved wife for more than 40 years of the late Richard I. Devlin. Born in Brockton, she was the daughter of the late James E. and Stephanie P. Gross.
She graduated from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 1956 with a degree in education and kept strong ties throughout her life with her Chi Omega sisters. Before settling in San Jose, Francine and Dick lived in Avon, Vienna, VA, and Warren, NJ.
Francine leaves three sons: Richard I. of San Jose, CA; Andrew and his wife, Erika, of Highlands Ranch, CO; and Mark and his wife, Megan, of Los Gatos, CA; and six grandchildren: Corey, Caitlin, Tyler, Shaylah, Avery and Alexa. She is also survived by her sister Marilyn Curran and her husband, Michael, of Canton, and two sisters of her late husband, Margaret Resker of Foxboro and Jane Lyons of Cotuit.
