Malloy, Matthew P.
By Canton CitizenMatthew P. Malloy, 47, of Canton, passed away on Friday, March 9, 2012, at home.
Since his graduation from law school, Matthew was a legal consultant, specializing in personal injury litigation and the general practice of law. Prior to becoming a consultant, he was a residential home builder speculating in real estate development in and around the south shore.
Matt was a graduate of Canton High School class of 1982. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business management from Stonehill College in 1993 and a Juris Doctorate from Roger Williams School of Law in 1996.
He leaves his two daughters, Shannon and Katherine Malloy, along with his former wife, Kathleen Rooney, of Canton. Matthew was the son of the late Joseph H. and Rosemary A. Malloy, brother of Joann R. Malloy of Canton, Joseph E. Malloy of New Hampshire, Rosemary Cammarata of Canton, Michael J. Malloy of Easton, and Jennifer M. McGrath of Taunton. Also survived by several aunts and uncles, numerous cousins, and many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home, 455 Washington Street, on Sunday, March 18, from 4-8 p.m. The funeral mass is scheduled for Monday, March 19, at 10:30 a.m. in St. John the Evangelist Church in Canton, with interment to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be sent to the S & K Malloy Educational Trust Fund (for the benefit of his surviving children’s education) at the North Easton Savings Bank, 295 Main Street, North Easton, MA 02356.
