By Canton CitizenStella (Filipowicz) Witunski, of Canton, passed away at home March 13 surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Boston, daughter to Peter and Anna (Kaminski) Filipowicz, she has lived in Canton for the last 51 years. She was a true senior advocate, working and volunteering for numerous senior issues and causes over the past 30 years.
Beloved wife of the late Alexander Witunski. Mother of Michael Witunski of Canton, Mark Witunski and his wife, Victoria, of Richfield, OH, Lorraine Witunski of Boston, Linda Witunski of Canton, and grandmother to Alexandra Witunski, Kirsten Witunski, M. Maxwell Witunski, Eric Witunski, and Kyle Witunski. Sister of Frank Filipowicz of GA, Louise Fues of VA, and the late Jen Wojtasinski, Helen Prokop, and Henry Filipowicz.
Visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home, 455 Washington Street, Friday, March 16, from 4-8 p.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend a funeral mass at St. John the Evangelist Church on Saturday morning at 10:30. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Stella’s memory may be sent to the Canton Senior Center, PO Box 54, Canton, MA 02021.
