On Thursday, March 29, at the Fairmont Copley Plaza in Boston, Canton Girl Scout and CHS sophomore Emily Buckley will join Chelsea Clinton on stage for a discussion on scouting as part of Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts’ 100th Anniversary Gala.

The daughter of former President Bill Clinton, Chelsea was a Girl Scout while living in Arkansas. She will be joined on stage by young members of GSEM, including Buckley, for a discussion on the impact and relevance of scouting in achieving life goals.

A fashion show of Girl Scout uniforms from 1910 to the present, with GSEM scouts as models, will also take place. The gala will also feature a performance by noted Boston jazz musician Grace Kelly and a live auction conducted by Boston Mayor Thomas M. Menino. Bianca de la Garza, co-anchor of WCVB-TV Channel 5’s EyeOpener Newscast, will serve as emcee.

The honorary co-chairs of the event include Governor Deval Patrick and First Lady of Massachusetts Diane Patrick, Mayor Menino and his wife, Angela, as well as Stacey and Larry Lucchino and Michelle and Greg Shell.

Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts serves more than 41,000 girls ages 5-17 and 18,000 adult volunteers in 178 communities across eastern Massachusetts, with the mission to build girls of courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place.
