Mills, Lloyd E.
By Canton CitizenLloyd E. Mills Sr., 86, of Canton, passed away April 29 at Norwood Hospital.
Born and raised in South Portland, Maine, he graduated from South Portland High School and the University of Maine, class of 1951, and was an Army veteran of WWII. He worked as a civil engineer for Whitman & Howard in Wellesley for many years before retiring in 1989. He was a life member and past president of the Ponkapoag Civic Association in Canton.
Beloved husband of the late Mary T. (Keating). Mother of Margaret E. Wall of Sharon, Susan D. Negri of Falmouth, Lloyd E. Jr. of Canton, Julie L. Linehan of Stoughton, Brian K. of West Bridgewater, and Stephen C. of Easton. Brother of Charles J., Donald D., Helen T. Arsenault, and Mary Ann Mahoney, all of Maine, and the late James W. and Arthur P. Mills. Also survived by 22 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and his close friend Peg Dooley of Canton.
A funeral mass will be held Thursday, May 3, at 10 a.m. in St. Gerard Majella Church in Canton. Interment Canton Corner Cemetery. Donations may be made in his memory to the Ponkapoag Civic Association Improvement Fund, P.O. Box 415, Canton, MA 02021. Arrangements by the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home, 455 Washington Street.
