‘Friends of Beth’ walk organizers grateful for support
By Canton CitizenDear Editor:
Once again, I would like to express my family’s and the committee’s sincere thanks and gratitude for all the walkers who came out for this, the fifth anniversary walk in memory of my sister. We had beautiful weather (thank you Beth), and the number of walkers this year was huge. A special thanks to the Hansen School community that came out, especially my second grade families and fifth grade play families. Go Team Hansen! Also, I must thank the Bridgewater State University women’s lacrosse team for coming to walk as well.
There are so many people in this town who helped in so many ways: the Board of Selectmen, police and fire departments, Canton Citizen, and Barbara Walsh, childhood friend to Beth and myself, as well as the Fruit Center Marketplace in Milton and Costco. Thank you.
We were able to raise almost $10,000 and will be giving scholarships in her name to deserving seniors from Canton High who are going into an art field. Beth, I’m sure, is looking down on us, thrilled that her memory lives on in helping blossoming art students. We know these awards would not be possible without the continued support of this wonderful town, friends and family.
Thanks to all.
Gratefully,
Patty Willis and the Friends of Beth Committee
