Murphy, James E.
By Canton CitizenJames E. Murphy, 58, of Canton, passed away May 3 at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston.
Born in Boston, he was raised in Canton and graduated from Canton High School. He worked as a self-employed roofing contractor for many years.
Beloved father of Shaun Murphy of Mansfield. Loving brother of Carol A. MacNeil of Mansfield. Uncle of Shani MacNeil and her children, Kylie and Devin, all of Canton. He was also survived by his longtime friend David Forbes of Attleboro, who was like a step-son to James, a sister, Deborah Gray of Canton, and several other nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass was held Wednesday, May 9, in St. John the Evangelist Church in Canton. Burial private. Donations may be made in his memory to the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Transplant Institute, 110 Francis St., 7th Floor, Boston, MA 02215.
