Born on July 5, 1931, Shirley will be remembered for her beauty, intelligence, strong wit, her humor, tenacity and aesthetic eye.
She was the beloved mother of Carol Miller of Brookline and Barry Silverman of Canton. Loving sister of Ruth Weissman of Deerfield Beach, FL, and the late Robert Sandler, Professor of English Emeritus at the University of Miami.
Graveside funeral services were held Sunday, July 1, at Kopaigorod Cemetery in West Roxbury. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (www.nami.org), 3803 N. Fairfax Dr., Suite 100, Arlington, VA 22203.
