Searson, Claire M.
By Canton CitizenClaire M. Searson (Moscone), 76, of Canton, passed away July 17 at home.
Born in Boston, she was raised in West Roxbury and graduated from Holy Cross Academy. After attending Pierce Junior College, she served as a secretary at American Mutual in Providence before marrying and subsequently moving to Canton in 1962 to raise her family. She served as a CCD instructor for St. John the Evangelist Church and was a longtime member of SSPSA.
After her children were grown, she returned to work at U.S. Trust & Company where she eventually became the bank manager for one of their Canton branches. She was a member of the Rotary Club and retired in 2000. She enjoyed travel, good food and conversation, long walks, reading, meeting new people, the beach, Frank Sinatra and shopping.
Beloved partner of William Bazzinotti. Mother of Cheryl-Ann Cohen and her husband, David, of Fairfax, VA, and Craig Searson and his wife, Michelle, of Laguna Nigel, CA. Grandmother of Samuel and Thomas of VA and Matthew, Danielle, and Savannah of CA. Sister of Fred Moscone and Louise Tondorf and her husband, Frank, of Westwood. Aunt of Kristine Hughes and her husband, Peter, and Kurt Tondorf and his wife, Carissa. “Mother” to the Bazzinotti family and a devoted friend to many.
Relatives and friends invited to attend a funeral mass in St. Bernadette’s Church in Randolph on Friday, July 20, at 10 a.m. Visiting hours Friday morning prior to the mass from 8:15-9:15 at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home, 455 Washington Street. Interment Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester.
