McCarthy, James D.

James D. McCarthy, 56, formerly of Canton, of Orrington, Maine, passed away July 24 at home surrounded by his loving family after a brief battle with cancer.

Born and raised in Canton, he graduated from Canton High School and lived in Canton until moving to Maine three years ago. He was a truck driver for several companies and drove throughout the United States.

Beloved father of Asa McCarthy of Orrington, ME. Beloved son of Thelma McCarthy of Duxbury and the late Donald McCarthy. Brother of Michelle Turner and her husband, George, of Duxbury. Uncle of Christopher Turner of Duxbury and Amanda Turner of Pembroke.

A memorial service was held Tuesday evening, July 21, at Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home, 455 Washington Street. Donations may be made in his memory to the New Hope Hospice, 1344 Main Rd., Eddington, ME 04428.
