CHS alum honored on Senior Day at UNH

Claire Grogan, a 2009 Canton High School graduate, was one of four seniors honored by the UNH field hockey team on the Wildcats’ Senior Day on Sunday, October 28.

Grogan and her teammates defeated Dartmouth 5-4 in overtime to wrap up the regular season at 11-7. The 20th ranked Wildcats then knocked off Fairfield 3-2 in the semifinals of the American East tournament and were due to face Albany in the championship game on Sunday, November 4.

Grogan, a midfielder, joined the team as a freshman walk-on and has played in 21 career games. She scored her first career goal earlier this season in an 8-3 win over Holy Cross.

A psychology major, Grogan was named to the NFHCA All-Academic team in 2009 and 2010 and to the America East Academic Honor Roll in 2009-2011. She is the daughter of David and Theresa Grogan of Canton.
