Warren supporter reflects on successful Senate campaign

Warren campaign supporters on Washington Street across from Canton Town Hall

Dear Editor:

Senator Elizabeth Warren owes her many votes in Canton to Joan and Al Nordgren. They brought more than 60 Democratic “cats” together to make the phone calls, watch the polls, canvass the streets, write the cards, and hold the signs that finally brought it all together for this brilliant woman. She may have been called the coordinator, but her exquisite tact kept us all working together, no matter how our opinions and personalities differed. That takes a brilliant tactician.

Often we were exhausted, wet and cold, but we would still slog it off and hit the streets for Elizabeth. No number of uplifted fingers, curses or war whoops could make us stop. The folks she gathered together were the creme de la creme of Canton. We even “gave” workers for Elizabeth to Brockton and Randolph. By the same token, we were quite beholden to Milton and Lexington for sending us some of their Warren devotees.

What a great experience to find out that sometimes money does not buy the electorate, especially one as informed as ours in Canton.
