Linehan, Helen S.
By Canton CitizenHelen Salem Linehan, 91, passed away on November 14, 2012, after a long illness. Helen died at home in the company of family.
Helen was the high school class valedictorian of North Brookfield and a graduate of Boston University. She owned her own stenography business, was the publications editor and publisher for the Federal Tax Institute of New England, and was office manager for the family engineering business, Linehan & Associates.
Helen loved gardening, cooking, especially Syrian cuisine, and vacationing in the Caribbean with her husband, Francis, brother Dick, and sister-in-law Margie. She was known to be quick-witted and very forthright with great writing and editing skills. She attended Trinity Community Church in Norwood.
Helen was predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Francis; her parents, Arthur and Sarah Salem; and brothers Ernest, Henry and Richard. She is survived by sons Clark, John, and Paul; Paul’s wife, Sue, John’s wife, Julie, and Clark’s partner, Alison; grandchildren Megan, Jack, Shannon, David, Kevin, Patrick, Kelly, and Christina; her brother Robert and cousin Genevieve Moses; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 24, in Trinity Community Church, 234 Walpole Street in Norwood. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Zoo New England, One Franklin Park Rd., Boston, MA 02121, or Family Autism Center of Westwood, 789 Clapboardtree St., Westwood, MA 02090.
