CHS Honors Recital
By Canton CitizenThe Canton High School Performing Arts Department held its Honors Recital Night on Tuesday, November 27, in the Morse Auditorium. The following performances were presented as a partial fulfillment of the CHS Music Honors requirements:
Lauren Winter on trumpet: “Coronation” by Timothy Johnson; Rose Mancuso on clarinet: “Fantasie-Piece” by Robert Schumann ed. H. Voxman; Paige O’Riordan on flute: “Sonata in F Major, 1. Vivace,” Georg Philipp Telemann ed. Milton Wittgenstein; Janae Bruce-Smith on voice and piano: “Hallelujah” by Leonard Cohen; Matt Foley on clarinet: “Minuet” by W.A. Mozart; Kate McClintock on horn: “Nocturne from A Midsummer Night’s Dream” by Felix Mendelssohn; Isabelle Hegland on voice: “(I’m in Love with) A Wonderful Guy,” from South Pacific, by Richard Rogers, Oscar Hammerstein; Caleb Morrison on clarinet, Dejah Jury on bass clarinet (duet): “Gavotte from Pièces de Clavecin,” by François Couperin Arr. Carl A. Rosenthal; Kristina Stuopis on flute: “Suite Modale, IV. Adagio” by Ernest Bloch; Peter Hartfiel on horn, Chris Sullivan on euphonium, and Peter Koplik on trombone (brass trio): Air, from Little Notebook for Wilhelm Friedemann Bach by J.S. Bach, and Romanza from Grandmother’s Songs, Op. 27 by R. Volkmann; Catherine Song on piano: Etudes Tableaux, Op. 33 No. 9, Sergei Rachmaninov
