St. John’s ranked No. 1 in archdiocesan testing

By

Out of over 120 parochial PK-8 schools in the Archdiocese of Boston, the students of St. John the Evangelist School in Canton earned the highest overall scores on the Stanford 10 Achievement tests in 2012. The Stanford, or SAT-10 as it is known, is administered to students nationwide in both public and private schools to judge overall student progress toward high academic achievements.

St. John’s School administers this test to all students in grades 3-8 in the spring of each year. According to Principal Sean Richardson, “The Stanford is the benchmark assessment by which thousands of public, private, and parochial schools measure themselves. It is a wonderful reflection upon the hard work of our students, the dedication of our teachers, and the strength of our curriculum.”

St. John the Evangelist School will be hosting an open house and registration for the 2013-2014 school year on Sunday, January 27, following the 9:30 a.m. mass to kick off Catholic Schools Week. The theme for this year’s Catholic Schools Week is “Catholic Schools Raise the Standards.” St. John’s School is certainly doing its part to accomplish that!
