Canton firefighters have busy holiday week
By Mike BergerCanton firefighters extinguished a car fire, a commercial rooftop fire, and provided mutual aid to house fires in Stoughton and Milton last week.
Firefighters were called to extinguish a fully involved car fire on Randolph Street around 5 a.m. on Saturday, December 29. The vehicle’s owner told firefighters he had heard an explosion, went outside and saw the fire. No injuries were reported in the incident.
Later that morning, around 6:40 a.m., firefighters responded to a fire on the roof of a building at 780 Dedham Street. Lt. Brian Marshall said the fire was contained to the rooftop HVAC unit. Ten firefighters were called to put out the fire.
Shortly before 9:30 p.m. on Christmas Eve, December 24, four Canton firefighters went out to a house fire on Kenmore Road in Stoughton, where they assisted in ventilating the roof.
On Friday, December 28, at 7 a.m. four Canton firefighters aided ventilation operations at a two-alarm house fire in Milton. No injuries were reported in either house fire.
