CAPE Spelling Bee

The Canton Alliance for Public Education hosted its seventh annual Spelling Bee on Friday, January 11, in the Canton High School auditorium. Proceeds from the event are used to support innovative programs in the Canton Public Schools through CAPE grants, which are distributed twice a year.
The following is a list of this year’s Spelling Bee champions, with the winning/final word listed in parentheses.
Third Grade: JFK Brainiacs (crochet)
Fourth Grade: Hansen Mushy Mushrooms (kaleidoscope)
Fifth Grade: JFK Super Spellers (acrid)
Galvin Middle School: Seventh Grade (blasphemous)
High School: 11th Grade (fugue)
Adults: Kennedy CAPT (rigmarole)
The next special event for CAPE is its annual spring fundraiser, which is scheduled for Friday, March 22, at 7 p.m. at the Brookmeadow Country Club in Canton.
