Dozens of volunteers help make Luce play a big success
By Canton CitizenDear Editor:
On Friday and Saturday, February 1 and 2, the Dean S. Luce fourth and fifth grade presented “Cinderella” as our annual school play.
It truly takes a village, and I would like to take this opportunity to thank some people who helped to make the performance special: director Cheryl Myles, who turned our children into performers; music director Kerry Thibeault, who led us through the multitude of songs; choreographer Shannon Milewski, who worked with the dancers; technical director Nicky Carbone and her crew; the Luce CAPT, which sponsors this event; Principal Robie Peter, her staff, and the fourth and fifth grade teachers who have been so supportive of the play; Deanna O’Keeffe, who has helped me coordinate all of the practices and anything else that needed to be done; Jessica Reilly, who made all of Cinderella’s costumes, along with all of the ball gowns and cummerbunds (and a big thank you to all of the fairy godmothers out there who donated their old prom dresses!); Kim Lee, who made all of the gentlemen’s attire and villager outfits; Jeanne Lehane, who made the Prince’s costume and handled all of the props; Tom Myles and the whole Myles family, who designed and created our sets, and the entire crew of families who worked on painting and building; Gina Garda, Margrette Mondillo, Dianne Wright, and Gina Franco for our program and cast head shots; Christina Moattari, who did publicity; Sue McDonnell, who handled our volunteers and the cast-o-grams; Julie Albert and Erin Weitz for concessions; Gail Gefteas, who transformed the faces of our mice and lizard, and Nicole Pascarelli for hair and makeup; Floral Scents in Canton for donating our flowers; Rebecca Healey and her team for preparing a cast party for the kids; the parents of our cast for bringing them to rehearsal; and to the kids who worked very hard to put on this production!
Sincerely,
Donna Yong
