A note of appreciation to Housing Authority maintenance crew

By

Dear Editor:

We are writing to express our appreciation for the rapid and thorough removal of snow in our neighborhood by the maintenance crew of the Canton Housing Authority during the recent blizzard. All snow and ice were quickly removed from our street, walkways, balconies, and outside stairways. The crew began the snow removal and salting process after the initial accumulations. During and shortly after the blizzard ended, it was safe to move about our neighborhood both by car and on foot.

This was in sharp contrast to the public sidewalks fronting our neighborhood along Washington Street. Forced to walk in Washington Street because a large mound of plowed snow blocked the sidewalk, one of our neighbors had to leap into the snow bank to avoid being hit by a minivan driven by a woman talking on a cell phone. This near-deadly mishap underscores the importance of the quality of snow removal provided by the Canton Housing Authority maintenance crew, to whom we express our sincere thanks and appreciation.

Sincerely,

Gail Thornton, Frank Shedd, Lee Shine and Charles Owens
