The Canton High girls’ swim team wrapped up its historic 2012-13 season with an impressive showing at the Division 2 state championship meet, held last Saturday at Springfield College.

The Bulldogs, which recently clinched their first Davenport Division title in program history and finished fourth overall at the league meet, sent six of their top swimmers to states.

Sophomore Shannon McLaughlin had an excellent day, finishing 10th overall out of 45 swimmers in the 100-yard butterfly and 17th in the 200-yard freestyle. She was also part of the 200 IM and 200 free relay teams that finished 13th and 18th, respectively.

Other swimmers who competed at states were Amanda Walsh (200 IM, 100 breaststroke, and 200 IM relay), Kim Frazier (50 free and both relays), Tiffany Ha (100 backstroke and 200 IM relay), Hailee Duserick and Julia Guerini (200 free relay).
