Sykes, Agnes F.

Agnes F. Sykes (Skehan), 93, of Canton, passed away March 11 at the Hellenic Nursing Home in Canton.

Born and raised in Boston, she attended St. Margaret’s School in Dorchester. She has lived in Canton for 60 years and was a member of the Canton Catholic Women’s Club, St. John the Evangelist Altar Guild, and the Legion of Mary.

Beloved wife for 70 years of George C. Sr. Mother of George C. Jr and his friend Elaine of Florida, Stephen F. and his wife, Chris, of CA, Gerard J. of Newton, and Robert E. and his wife, Janet, of Canton. Mother-in-law of Cathy Sykes of Hanover. Also survived by seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home, 455 Washington Street, Thursday, March 14, from 4-8 p.m. Funeral mass in St. John the Evangelist Church in Canton Friday at 10:30 a.m. Burial Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Hellenic Nursing Home, 601 Sherman St., Canton, MA 02021.
