McDaid, Edwin A.

Edwin A. McDaid, 46, of Canton, passed away May 1 by accident.

Born in Boston, he was a lifelong resident of Canton. He graduated from Canton High School in 1985 and the University of New Hampshire. He was a sports enthusiast and played Little League baseball, basketball at Canton High School, and was an avid golfer and a member of the Wampatuck Golf Club.

He previously worked for Robert Half International in Braintree and was the owner of South Shore Staffing in Canton and a member of the board of directors of the South Shore Chamber of Commerce. He was a devout Catholic and was previously an active parishioner at St. Cecilia Church in Boston.

Beloved son of Jane (Kennealey) and William J. McDaid of Canton. Brother of Linda A. McDaid of CA, Jennifer Garbuzinski of North Attleboro, and William J. McDaid Jr. and his wife, Esther, of NY. Uncle of Michael J. and John P. Garbuzinski of North Attleboro. Close personal friend of Father Dan Magni of Canton, formerly of Lowell.

A funeral mass was held Monday morning, May 6, in St. John the Evangelist Church in Canton. Burial Canton Corner Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to St. Cecilia Church, 18 Belvidere St., Boston, MA 02115. Arrangements by the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home, 455 Washington Street.
