Delaney, Ronald T.
By Canton CitizenRonald T. Delaney, 76, passed away May 9 at the Charlwell House in Norwood.
Born in Champaign, Illinois, he attended school in Bellwood, IL, and was a veteran of the United States Navy. After serving in the Navy he attended Northeastern University and took classes through the VA Bill. He has lived in Canton for the last 12 years and previously lived in Medford.
He worked for Polaroid Corporation as a mechanical engineer for 35 years and retired in 1996. He summered for many years in West Yarmouth and was a member of the Lewis Bay Yacht Club.
Beloved fiancé of Joanne Gallagher Quinn of Canton. Husband of the late Joan F. (Haiduven). Father of Denise Delaney of Whately, Kimberly Russo of Norwalk, CT, and Ronald T. Delaney Jr. of Jupiter, FL. Grandfather of Samantha and Amanda Russo and Erik and Olivia Delaney. Also survived by his future stepsons, Daniel R. Quinn of Roslindale and Matthew L. Quinn of Walpole.
A funeral mass was held Tuesday morning, May 14, in St. Gerard Majella Church in Canton. Burial Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. Donations may be made in his memory to Heifer International at www.heifer.org. Arrangements by the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home, 455 Washington Street.
