Campbell, Francis A.

Francis A. Campbell, 63, of South Boston, passed away at home July 24 surrounded by his loving family.

Born and raised in Charlestown, he graduated from Matignon High School and Merrimack College. He has lived in South Boston for the last 29 years, and in his early years he worked for the city of Boston and then went on to work for the Massachusetts Department of Probation for over 30 years before retiring in 2012.

Beloved husband of Barbara E. McManus. Father of Brendan McManus. Brother of Dennis Campbell and his wife, Patricia, of NH, and Maureen Smith of Charlestown. Also survived by six nephews.

A funeral mass will be held Friday, August 2, at 10 a.m. in St. Gerard Majella Church in Canton. Burial Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Massachusetts General Hospital Development Office, Identifying Tumor Genomic Changes in Lung Cancer Fund, 165 Cambridge St., Suite 600, Boston, MA 02114.
