O’Brien, David J.
By Canton CitizenDavid J. O’Brien, 55, of Kingston, passed away July 27 at South Shore Hospital after a brief illness.
Born in Boston, he was raised in Canton and graduated from Canton High School where he was a member of the 1976 championship hockey team. David was a kind, unassuming person who enjoyed spending time with his family, loved the ocean and his Irish setter, Seamus. He was a manager for Rite Aid in Hingham, Rockland, and most recently in Plymouth.
Beloved husband of the late Barbara (Miller). Father of Michael of Kingston and Meaghan O’Brien of FL. Loving son of Helen R. (Flaherty) O’Brien of Canton and the late John J. O’Brien. Brother of Elaine Kelly and her husband, Richard Lang, of Marshfield, and Gregory E. O’Brien of Canton. Also survived by his loving fiancée, Denise Clark, of Hull, and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass was held Wednesday morning, July 31, in St. Gerard Majella Church in Canton. Burial private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to “Our Neighbors in Need,” c/o St. Gerard Majella Church, 1860 Washington St., Canton, MA 02021.
