Two more Dunkin Donuts robberies reported
By Mike BergerA regional task force consisting of police detectives from Canton and surrounding towns are continuing to probe a rash of Dunkin Donuts robberies in the area. Last week there were two more robberies reported — one at a Dunkin Donuts in Norwood and another in West Roxbury.
Detectives are also following up leads related to the July 24 robbery of the Dunkin Donuts on Neponset Street — the same location that was robbed a month earlier. In both instances, a man wearing dark clothes and a ski mask entered the store when there were no customers, showed a handgun and demanded money from the cashiers.
Similar robberies have occurred in the past month at Dunkin Donuts locations in Westwood, Walpole, Norton, Newton, and Boston on the Dedham line.
Fire Dept. telephone fundraiser continues
The Canton Fire Department and Firefighters Local 1580 would like to remind Canton residents about an ongoing telephone fundraiser that will continue until the end of August. The fundraiser is designed to raise money for local organizations in town. A telemarketing agency is conducting the campaign.
In other news, four Canton firefighters responded to a mutual aid call for a three-alarm fire at an apartment building in Randolph on Tuesday, August 6, at 7 p.m. Canton firefighters assisted in putting out the fire and with overhaul operations.
