Varnerin, Marion R.
By Canton CitizenMarion R. Varnerin of Canton passed away August 25 at the Medway Country Manor Nursing Home after a long illness.
Born and raised in Brookline, she graduated from Brookline High in 1941. She has lived in Canton since 1962 where she was a member of the Ponkapoag Civic Association, an active member of St. Gerard Majella Church, and a member of the Catholic Daughters of America. She worked for Dobeckmun Co. for six years prior to being married and later worked for John Hancock Life Insurance Company as a secretary for 10 years.
Beloved wife of the late Albert J. Varnerin. Mother of John L. and his wife, Amy, of Stow, and Leslie A. Reid of Easton and her fiancé, William Walsh. Grandmother of Macy Reid and Declan and Ella Varnerin. Aunt of Maureen McKean of Brockton, Ann Barry of Weymouth, Ellen Varnerin of Sandwich, Lisa Varnerin of Quincy, and Joanne Russell of Medway.
Funeral mass in St. Gerard Majella Church Thursday, August 29, at 12 noon. Interment VA National Cemetery in Bourne Thursday at 2:45 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marion’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association.
