CHS AD thanks supporters for scoreboard, press box improvements
By Canton CitizenDear Editor:
As the CHS athletic year gets underway, I’d like to take a moment to recognize the efforts and generosity of several groups and companies for helping us improve WWII Veterans Memorial Field by installing a new scoreboard and enclosing our press box over the past two years.
In recent years, it became clear that we were in need of a new scoreboard and a new public address system. In order to bring our facility up to date with wireless technology, it was determined that our press box needed to be enclosed in order to safely store our new equipment.
Several Canton groups and companies stepped up to help make this new system a reality. The CHS Athletic Booster Club led the effort to fund the press box project, while the Canton Co-operative Bank purchased the state-of-the-art scoreboard system. GEV Design, RAV Associates, Padco Countertop Co., and Sunrise Erectors all provided materials and/or labor to actually construct the project.
Additional thanks go out to the Canton Public Schools’ maintenance staff for their tireless efforts in overseeing and completing many of the tasks necessary to complete the project.
It is great to be a part of a community with so many caring people and businesses who are willing to give back to our children.
Sincerely,
Danny Erickson
