Byrne, Elsie R.

Elsie R. Byrne, 95, formerly of Kennebunk, Maine, passed away on Saturday, October 19, 2013, in Temple, Texas, surrounded by her family.

Elsie was born on July 11, 1918, to Herbert and Ruth (Jennison) Estey in Canton. She was raised and educated in Canton before she obtained her master’s degree in education and psychology at the University of New Hampshire. She taught school in Kennebunk for many years.

Elsie loved to play golf and read books.

She is the beloved aunt of nieces and nephews Ruth Ann, Warren, Linda, Nancy and Kenneth. She will also be missed by their families and her cousins, including Ed Estey, Billy Estey, and Sandra Ambrose.

Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home of Killeen has been entrusted with arrangements.
